The default setting is always on 50/50 (balance)on windows vista.
You can set it to High Performance or to power saver.
Power plans increase your computer's performance or conserve energy.
Go to start and type Power in your start menu search.
Click on the power options....
Click on the "tell me more about power plans" to learn more if you don't know which setting is good for you.
